Robert Roy was an All-America track and field athlete for the Bearcats. He placed second at the 1960 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the discus, missing first by just eight inches. Roy still holds the Willamette record in the discus with a throw of 163’ 8”. At the time of induction it was one of the oldest Willamette track & field records. He also competed in the shot put, javelin throw and pole vault.
