Nick Symmonds won seven NCAA Division III championships in track and field with four titles in the 800m and three titles in the 1,500m. He helped the Bearcats place in the top four at the NCAA Championships in 2004 and 2005. When inducted, Symmonds held Willamette records at 800m (1:45.83), 1,500m (3:40.91) and 400m (48.15). His record in the 800m ranks first all-time in NCAA Division III, and his time in the 1,500m ranks third. In cross country, Symmonds won the NWC individual title in 2005. He won six U.S. national outdoor championships and two indoor titles in the 800m. He was a semifinalist in the 800m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and placed fifth at the 2012 London Olympics, while setting a personal record of 1:42.95. Symmonds earned the silver medal in the 800m at the World Championships in 2013, placed fifth in 2011 and was sixth in 2009.
