1986 Women's Basketball

Willamette went 20-7 overall and won the WCIC with a 10-0 record. The next team to go undefeated in the conference was George Fox at 16-0 in 2007-08. WU was led by Head Coach Cheryl K. Brown.

The Bearcats were 14-6 against NAIA District 2 teams. WU lost in the first round of the NAIA District 2 Tournament to Northwest Nazarene, 75-64.

First Team All-Conference selections for Willamette in 1985-86 were Christine Suess and Natalie Marth. Suess averaged 13.6 points per game and Marth achieved 11.6 points per contest. Suess also led the team with 8.9 rebounds per game, and Lesslie Knight averaged in double figures with 10.3 points per game. Sabrina Petersen added 8.0 boards per game.

Willamette achieved a +9.5 rebound margin and limited opponents to 39.0% shooting. The Bearcats were 11-2 at home and 9-5 on the road. WU had a 13 game winning streak during the season.
