Chris Sabato has been a member of the Bearcat staff since 2005 and was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director, Media in 2016. 

He is responsible for graphic design, photography, and social media within the athletics department. In this role, Sabato also is responsible for the management of the Willamette University Athletics brand and identity.

Sabato has been vital in the implementation and expansion of video streaming of Bearcat Athletic events. Willamette currently streams baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, swimming, volleyball and women's lacrosse.

Sabato runs the timing system for all Willamette cross country and track & field meets.

Willamette University uses ARMS software as the athletics information system. Sabato is the ARMS administrator and responsible for integration with Colleague, the university's student information system and Slate, the admission's information system.

Formally a pole vault coach for the track and field team, Sabato coached Katie Mariman to a school-record (11’5.75”) in 2011. He has also coached six of Willamette’s top ten female vaulters.

A 2002 graduate of Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y., Sabato has a degree in Electrical Engineering. During his collegiate track and field career, Sabato competed in the sprints, long jump, and was all-conference in the pole vault. 

Sabato runs the timing system for all Willamette cross country and track & field meets. He is recognized as one of the top FinishLynx operators in the Northwest and was interviewed by the New York Times to help explain the unprecedented tie in the 2012 Olympic Trials women’s 100-meter dash.
