FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- Senior left-handed pitcher Clint Moran (Mission Viejo, CA/Capistrano Valley HS) threw a complete game and the Willamette University offense collected 13 hits, as the Bearcats defeated Pacific University, 12-2, in a Northwest Conference game on Saturday, April 26 at Chuck Bafaro Stadium. Willamette evened its overall record at 19-19, while moving above the .500 mark in conference play at 15-14 with two games remaining. Pacific fell to 19-19 overall, 16-14 in the NWC.
SALEM, ORE. -- Due to a scheduling oversight that exceeded by one game the NCAA Division III baseball 40-game limit, Willamette University is canceling the first game of its Northwest Conference series at Pacific University this coming weekend under instructions from the NWC Commissionerâ??s Office. As per NCAA rules, the cancellation will be treated as a forfeit win for Pacific and will be listed as a no contest for Willamette.

SPOKANE, WASH. -- Willamette University's baseball doubleheader at Whitworth University on Saturday, March 29 has been canceled due to overnight snow in eastern Washington. The doubleheader, which was slated to begin a four-game Northwest Conference series, will be played on Sunday, March 30. If snow continues to fall in Spokane, Wash., the doubleheader may be moved to Lewiston, Idaho. A decision on the location and start time for the doubleheader will be made late Saturday or early Sunday.

George Fox won the first game, 8-0, behind a six-hitter from pitcher Nick Hedgecock.
NEWBERG, ORE. -- Colin Young (Sr., RF, Portland, OR/Lincoln HS) hit a three-run homer in the first inning and added a solo homer in the seventh, leading Willamette University to an 11-2 win over Northwest Conference leader George Fox University in the second game game of a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15 at Morse Field. George Fox scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the first game, 6-5.

For Willamette, now 2-3 on the season, it was the fourth game decided by one run or with the winning run scored in the ninth inning or an extra inning. St. Vincent, playing its season opener, fell to 0-1.
