Stalker Chosen NWC Student-Athlete of the Week for the Second Week in a Row

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior first baseman Kyle Stalker (Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) has been named Northwest Conference Baseball Player Student-Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. He batted .467 (7 of 15) with four homers, eight runs and 12 RBIs in five games from April 7-11. His efforts helped the Bearcats go 3-2 during the week.

Stalker recorded at least one RBI in each game. He hit two solo home runs and an RBI single in Willamettes 5-2 victory over Corban College on April 7. He also hit two home runs in the final game against the University of Puget Sound, a 21-10 win on April 11. He walked four times during the week, including two intentional walks.

At the end of the week, Stalker led Willamette's season statistics with a .455 batting average. He had 11 home runs and 46 RBIs.

During his career with the Bearcats, Stalker has established WU career records with 47 home runs and 155 RBIs. In 2008, he was selected Third Team All-America by the ABCA, earned First Team All-Region recognition and was the NWC Player of the Year.

Kyle Stalker hit .467 during the week with four home runs and 12 RBIs.
