Stalker Selected for Second Team All-West Region Honors

SALEM, ORE. -- The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has selected Willamette University senior first baseman Kyle Stalker (Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) for Second Team All-West Region honors in NCAA Division III.

Earlier this spring, Stalker was named First Team All-Northwest Conference for the second consecutive season. He was chosen NWC Student-Athlete Player of the Week twice, on April 6 and April 13.

Stalker had a strong senior season, leading the NWC with a .455 batting average, 15 home runs, and a .960 slugging percentage. He led the Bearcats with 52 RBIs, 26 walks and a .556 on-base percentage. He scored 33 runs and earned five sacrifice flies. On defense, he recorded 191 putouts and 16 assists with just two errors at first base. He achieved a .990 fielding percentage.

He leaves Willamette with a bachelor's degree in Economics, two Willamette career records and three single season records. His career totals of 51 home runs and 161 RBIs rank first in Willamette history. His single season totals of a .455 average in 2009, 22 home runs in 2008, and 63 RBIs in 2008, all top the Bearcat record book.

Last year, Stalker was named First Team All-West Region and Third Team All-America by the ABCA. He played in 126 career games (122 starts) and achieved a career batting average of .339 for the Bearcats, including a combined .398 average as a junior and a senior. He also recorded a .990 career fielding percentage.

Kyle Stalker hit 51 home runs, earned 161 RBIs and achieved a .990 fielding percentage during his career with the Bearcats.
