SALEM, ORE. -- The weather keeps delaying the Willamette University versus George Fox University baseball doubleheader originally scheduled for March 15. After being rained out on the original date, the teams had hoped to play on Wednesday, March 25. Additional rain, however, has postponed the doubleheader again. The teams have tentatively set April 1 as the new makeup date.

The teams have played two games in the four-game series. The Bruins downed the Bearcats, 14-10, on March 13. The second game, which was suspended after three innings on March 14, was completed on March 18 with the Bruins winning, 22-7.

Willamette is 5-11 overall and 3-7 in the Northwest Conference. George Fox is 15-4 on the season, 10-0 in the NWC.

The Bearcats are scheduled to host Whitworth University in four NWC games this weekend, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 28 at 12 p.m. (PDT) at John Lewis Field. Willamette is slated to conclude the series against the Pirates with two more games on Sunday, March 29 at 12 p.m.

Doug Bloom is batting .328 with 15 runs scored. He is 5 of 6 on stolen bases.
