SALEM, OR Brandon Bennett, a sophomore offensive lineman from San Marcos, CA, has been named to the D3-Football.com Honorable Mention All-American team and third team All-West Region team in voting announced recently by D3football.com.
Bennett was the only returning starter for the Bearcats offensive line and was the cornerstone of a group that led the Bearcats to a No. 19 ranking in the nation in rushing offense.
Brandon is an outstanding talent, said Head Coach Mark Speckman. Not only did he play at an exceptionally high level, he was instrumental in helping bring along his fellow offensive lineman and helped to merge that group into a very cohesive unit for us. Brandon is very deserving of both the West Region and national honors he received and were very excited to have him coming back for two more seasons.
Bennett, a 62, 300-pound lineman who went to La Costa Canyon High School, was also named to the First Team All-NWC Offensive Team this season. It was the second year in a row he was named All-NWC.
