Dean, Alton Earn Regional Academic All-American Awards

SALEM, OR Defensive Back Tim Alton and running back Kevin Dean have been named to the ESPN the Magazine District 8 CoSida Academic All-American team for their outstanding success on the field and in the classroom.

Alton, a junior defender from Oregon City, was a team captain and was fourth on the Bearcats in tackles this season with 58 and added an interception. Alton is a Chemistry/biology major with a 3.96 grade point average. A four year letter winner Alton is a Football Team Leadership Council Representative and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Alton is the recipient of the Mary Stuart Rogers Scholar and the Oregon Optimist Good Citizen Award. He volunteers his time with groups including Reading is Leading

Dean, the Bearcats special team MVP in 2004, is a chemistry major with a 3.6 gpa. A senior from Weed, CA, he is a member National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Mortar Board Executive Council.

He is a recipient of the Peterson Family Scholarship for Chemistry and has volunteered in the community with groups included Troubled Youth Mentoring and the United Way Day of Caring.

Both are now eligible for the National ESPN the Magazine CoSida Academic All-American team.
