Willamette to Host Inaugural Women's Football Clinic

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University football coaching staff will host the inaugural Womens Football Clinic on Saturday, Aug. 4 at Sparks Field and Kaneko Auditorium on the WU campus. The clinic is designed to help women gain a better understanding of the game of football in a hands-on teaching and coaching environment.

The Womens Football Clinic will include a rules seminar, equipment demonstration, various drills regarding the fundamentals of football, plus position instruction and strategy sessions on offense, defense and special teams. Snacks will be provided by Roly Poly. The schedule will conclude with a non-contact competition and will be followed by a social hour at the Ram Restaurant and Brewery, which is sponsoring the clinic.

Pre-registration is $35 if paid by July 21. Registration the day of the event will be $40. Participants should arrive at the entrance to the Sparks Center at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 4. The clinic schedule will begin at 5 p.m. with a welcome from Willamette Head Coach Mark Speckman.
