SALEM, ORE. -- The Bearcats of Willamette University have jumped to #20 in this week's NCAA Division III Coaches Poll released by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Monday, Nov. 9. Willamette was ranked #22 each of the past two weeks.
Willamette defeated the University of Puget Sound, 50-6, on Saturday, Nov. 7 to improve to 7-2 overall and to 4-1 in the Northwest Conference. The Bearcats will conclude the regular season with a game at Menlo College on Saturday, Nov. 14. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. (PST).
The NCAA will announce the teams selected for the Division III Playoffs on Sunday, Nov. 15. Willamette will be after one of just six at-large bids in the 32-team bracket. Linfield College has clinched the automatic berth that goes to the Northwest Conference champion.
