SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University sophomore inside linebacker Jaden Rosselli (Santa Rosa, CA/Santa Rosa HS) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his defensive play in the Bearcat's 57-28 win over previously undefeated Lewis & Clark College on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Rosselli registered 5 solo tackles and 8 assisted tackles to lead all players with 13 tackles overall. He also intercepted a pass, which he returned 34 yards to the Lewis & Clark 31-yard line to set up a Willamette touchdown two plays later. In addition, he achieved one tackle behind the line of scrimmage for a 5-yard loss.

"Jaden did a great job of stopping the run and helping contain their quarterback. He also did a great job in pass coverage. He was all over the field. It was an outstanding effort," said Willamette Head Coach Mark Speckman.

So far this season, Rosselli has accumulated 49 total tackles to rank fifth among Willamette's defenders. He is tied for second on the team with five pass break-ups.

"He's a really good player. Some injuries have forced him into more playing time and he's really responded," Speckman said.

Willamette will play its season finale on Saturday, Nov. 12, when the Bearcats host Pacific Lutheran University in a Northwest Conference game. Kickoff at McCulloch Stadium is set for 1 p.m. (PST).

Prior to the game against PLU, the Bearcats will honor members of Willamette's 1941 Pearl Harbor football team. In addition, the 2011 seniors will be recognized for their contributions over the past four seasons.
