Bearcats Take on Wildcats at 4 p.m. on Saturday at McCulloch Stadium

Willamette to Battle with #6-ranked Linfield

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University will take on their nationally-ranked archrivals from Linfield College at 4 p.m. (PDT) on Saturday, Oct. 1 at McCulloch Stadium. Game time is in late afternoon because the Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational in cross country will be held at the stadium and Bush's Pasture Park earlier in the day.

Willamette enters the game with a 1-2 record. Linfield is the third nationally-ranked team on the Bearcats' schedule. WU has already played the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, ranked #23 at the time, and Hardin-Simmons University (Texas), ranked #9 at the time.

Linfield is 2-0 on the season and is ranked #6 in the D3football.com Top 25 this week. The Wildcats have defeated California Lutheran University, 24-14, and the University of La Verne, 52-3.

Saturday's game is the Northwest Conference opener for both teams.

Wes Wenzel has recorded 23 tackles so far this season.
