Wyman Named NWC Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week

Averages 41.4 Yards per Punt with Two Kicks Inside the 20

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University punter Taylor Wyman (Bellevue, WA/Issaquah HS) has been selected as the Northwest Conference Football Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week or his efforts on Saturday, Nov. 2 against #2-ranked Linfield College.

Wyman averaged 41.4 yards on eight punts. His longest punt covered 54 yards and two of his punts went inside the Linfield 20, including one kick downed at the 4-yard line. In addition, he rushed 12 times for 90 yards and caught one pass for 19 yards and a touchdown as a running back on offense.

For the season, Wyman is averaging 41.0 yards per punt with six punts that have covered at least 50 yards and three punts inside the 20. On offense, he has carried the ball 48 times for a team-high 333 yards (6.9 avg.) and five touchdowns. He has caught two passes for 24 yards, including the touchdown versus the Wildcats.

Linfield defeated Willamette, 56-15. WU, which entered the game ranked #25 in the D3football.com Top 25, fell to 5-2 overall, 2-2 in the Northwest Conference.

The Bearcats will host Pacific University on Saturday, Nov. 9 at McCulloch Stadium. Pacific is currently 6-1 and ranked #25 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll for NCAA Division III.
