Bonn and Jenkins Qualify for NFF Hampshire Honor Society

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University football players Kyle Bonn (Sr., OL, Keizer, OR/McNary HS) and Jordan Jenkins (Gr., WR, Placentia, CA/Valencia HS) have qualified for the Hampshire Honor Society class of 2020. Sponsored by the National Football Foundation, the Hampshire Honor Society is in its 14th year. It recognizes college football players from all divisions who are seniors and have maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average.

The class of 2020 features 1,432 players from 364 colleges and universities. The new members join previous players who have been named to the Hampshire Honor Society, which began in 2007. This year's athletes were nominated after completing the fall semester.

Fifty Bearcats have been chosen for the Hampshire Honor Society since it started. The Bearcats have had at least one selection in 13 of the 14 seasons.

NFF Hampshire Honor Society Class of 2019

Kyle Bonn (Sr., OL, Keizer, OR/McNary HS) Kyle Bonn (Sr., OL), who played four seasons with the Bearcats, competed in five games in 2019. He helped the Willamette offense average 268.2 passing yards per game. His blocking contributed to the Bearcats earning 23 touchdown passes. Bonn helped provide time for the quarterbacks to complete more than 10 passes to five different players during the season, including more than 30 passes to three players.

For the year, Willamette averaged 341.6 total yards per game. WU scored 18.8 points per game and earned 160 first downs.

Bonn majored in Psychology with minors in German and Theatre at Willamette. He held a 3.492 cumulative GPA at the end of the 2019 fall semester.

Jordan Jenkins (Gr., WR, Placentia, CA/Valencia HS) Jordan Jenkins (Gr., WR) joined the football team as a graduate student-athlete in 2019 after playing basketball at Willamette for four seasons. He caught 33 passes for 460 yards and nine touchdowns, while playing in nine games. He averaged 13.9 yards per catch.

Jenkins caught six or more passes three times, including eight catches for 114 yards and one touchdown against Pacific University on Oct. 12. He scored three touchdowns against the University of La Verne (Calif.) on Sept. 14, and then recorded three touchdowns versus Occidental College (Calif.) one week later on Sept.21.

Jenkins is completing Willamette's 3/2 MBA program at the Atkinson Graduate School of Management. He completed the fall semester with a 3.543 cumulative GPA. He received a bachelor's degree in Economics at Willamette in 2019.

Qualifications for the NFF Hampshire Honor Society

In order to qualify for the Hampshire Honor Society a football player must be a starter or significant substitute completing their last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III or NAIA college or university. Each student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout undergraduate study, and must have met all NCAA progress-toward-degree requirements.
