Alec Stevenson

What was your most memorable moment throughout your career at Willamette?

Being the only three-time Defensive MVP in the history of the Willamete program

Describe your feelings when you found out the athletic events were canceled for the remainder of the year.

I really felt bad for all the athletes who couldn't play out their senior years.

How have you been handling life in quarantine? Are you home or on campus? What's it like learning online and not being around your teammates?

I'm at home. Learning online is okay, but I miss all my teammates and friends. They were my favorite part of Willamette, and it is a bummer that we don't get to finish our last semester in a traditional manner.

What has your experience as a Bearcat taught you?

Do the things that make you happy and be genuine.

If you could leave one piece of advice for future Bearcats, what would it be?

Make sure you broaden your horizon and do not live in a bubble. Enjoy your years in college. It should be some of the most fun times of your life.

What are your future plans following graduation?

I plan to work in wealth management.

From their teammates

What was your most memorable moment of Alec?

Tovar Moreno: When we tied for the same amount of tackles in my first start at PLU in 2018.

Ty Benny: Spending most of the summer after our sophomore year training together in Salem.

How has Alec impacted you in your sport or in life?

Tovar Moreno: Alec has pushed me to be a better player on the field and an even better man off the field.

Ty Benny: Alec is highly motivated and his work ethic is something to be respected. It always pushed me to work harder knowing he was on the same mission. I'm very appreciative of how he kept me accountable through leading by example and brought others up with him.

What makes Alec special?

Tovar Moreno: He cared about Willamette as a school and as a football program more than people think, and he loved being a Willamette Bearcat.

Ty Benny: Being one of the most feared on the field, while having an incredible and sometimes childish sense of humor.

Is there anything Alec brought to the program that will have a lasting impact?

Tovar Moreno: The infectious drive he brought to the team every day no matter what the score was or how bad our record was.

Ty Benny: Second in all-time tackles in school history. On top of that, his leadership and commitment to excellence will leave a lasting impression highlighting work ethic for the following classes.
