Bearcat Men's Basketball to Play at University of Oregon

SALEM, ORE -- The Willamette University men's basketball team will take on the University of Oregon from NCAA Division I tonight at McArthur Court in Eugene, Ore. Tipoff is set for 7:06 p.m.

The Bearcats, who compete in NCAA Division III, enter the game with a 3-5 record following last night's 86-64, last-second victory over Concordia University (Ore.). The Ducks head into the game with a 5-3 record under first-year Head Coach Dana Altman.

You can watch tonight's game on Comcast SportsNet Northwest (Channel 37 in Salem) and you can follow the game with Willamette's Audio Webcast provided by Full Access Sports. Individual game tickets are for sale by the University of Oregon. Mac Court is located at 1601 University Street in Eugene.

Willamette and Oregon have a history at Mac Court that began with the Ducks' first-ever game at the arena. On Jan. 14, 1927, Oregon opened Mac Court with a 38-10 victory over the Bearcats.

On Jan. 15, 2002, the teams met to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Mac Court, with Oregon claiming a 71-48 win over Willamette. Tonight's game is the first meeting since then between WU and UO. The Ducks lead the all-time series, 41-12.

Tonight's game is Throw-Back Night at Mac Court. Oregon will be wearing jerseys resembling those worn by the Ducks' 1939 National Championship team.

Following tonight's game, the Bearcats will not play again until Dec. 29, when they will take on Texas Lutheran University in the first round of the Mary Hardin-Baylor Tournament. Game time in Belton, Texas, is set for 5:30 p.m. (CST)/3:30 p.m. (PST)
