Willamette Places Two Players on All-Tournament Team at Capital City Classic

Luedtke and Manu are Selected for Recognition

MONMOUTH, ORE. -- Willamette University men's basketball players Brandon Luedtke (So., F, Meridian, ID/Mt. View HS) andAvery Manu (Sr., Wing, Pocatello, ID/Highland HS) have been named to the All-Tournament Team at the Capital City Classic, hosted by Western Oregon University from Wednesday, Nov. 27 through Saturday, Nov. 30.

The Bearcats took second place in the 3-team round-robin tournament with a 1-1 record. Willamette fell to Western Oregon, 88-77, on Wednesday, and routed Corban University, 78-54 on Friday. Western Oregon finished in first place at 2-0, after downing Corban, 75-60 on Saturday. The Warriors went 0-2 in the tournament.

Luedtke provided WU with 24 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and six steals in the two match-ups. He earned 11 points and five boards against the Wolves, and registered 13 points and eight boards versus the Warriors.

Manu led Willamette with 27 points in the Bearcats' two games. He earned 17 points against WOU and added 10 points in the win over Corban. During the tournament, he connected on 8 of 16 field goals (50.0%) and made 10 of 10 free throws. He also earned five rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Rodney Webster from Western Oregon was chosen Tournament MVP. He scored 31 points in two games, with 15 points against Willamette and 16 points versus Corban. He hit 10 of 13 field goals and went 10 of 13 at the free throw line. He also earned five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Also named to the All-Tournament Team for Western Oregon was Marwan Sarhan. He scored 16 points in the game with Willamette and added 17 points against Corban for 33 points overall. He also hauled down 14 rebounds, including 10 boards against the Warriors.

Caleb Dozier of Corban completed the All-Tournament selections. He scored a total of 20 points, but earned only four points against the Bearcats. He tallied 16 points against Western Oregon on Saturday. He brought down nine rebounds in the two games.

Brandon Luedtke scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Willamette in two games at the Capital City Classic.
