Willamette at Lewis & Clark Men's Basketball game Changes to 7 p.m. on Saturday

SALEM, Ore. -- The Northwest Conference men's basketball game between Willamette University and Lewis & Clark College scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 27 has been changed to tipoff at 7 p.m. (PST), one hour later than originally scheduled. The change is the result of Portland State University playing its home basketball games at the Pamplin Sports Center on the L&C campus while PSU's new home arena is under construction. PSU has a home game earlier in the afternoon.

Willamette is 8-9 so far this season, including 3-5 in the NWC. The Bearcats are averaged 74.2 points per game, while allowing 72.2 pionts per conest.

The Bearcats will play one more game before taking on the Pioneers. Willamette is slated to play at George Fox University on Friday, Jan. 26. Game time in Newberg, Oregon, is set for 6 p.m. (PST). George Fox slipped past the Bearcats 78-75 on Dec. 1 at Cone Field House.

One day later on Dec. 2, Willamette outscored Lewis & Clark 64-47 at Cone Field House. Jordan Jenkins (Jr., F, Placentia, CA/Valencia HS) scored 19 points, hauled down nine rebounds, and supplied five assists against the Pioneers. Nico Troplent (Sr., W, Guadaloupe, France/Cathedral HS) contributed 17 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

For the season, Jenkins tops the Bearcats' scoring chart with 12.8 points per game and leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per game. He also ranks first for the Bearcats with 55 assists and 13 blocked shots. Troplent adds 11.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, and is shooting 88.7% at the free throw line to rank second in the NWC. Brendon McCullough (Sr., G, San Antonio, TX/Home Schooled) is scoring 10.7 points per game and leads WU with 23 successful 3-point shots. Trent Callan (Jr., G, Portland, OR/Lincoln HS) is averaging 8.5 points per game.
