Jenkins is Selected NWC Student-Athlete of the Week with 31.5 Points per Game

SALEM, Ore. -- Jordan Jenkins (Sr., F, Placentia, CA/Valencia HS) had two outstanding games for Willamette University last week, leading to his selection today as the Northwest Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. It was the third time Jenkins was chosen for the award this season.

In Willamette's games against Pacific University and University of Puget Sound, Jenkins averaged 31.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. He shot 82.8% from the field (24 of 29), including 3 for 3 on 3-point attempts. He sank 12 of 15 free throws for 80.0%.

Jenkins broke his career high for single game scoring twice during the week. In Willamette's 113-111 loss to Pacfic on Feb. 5, he scored 31 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, while breaking his previous career high of 25 points against Whitman College on Dec. 1, 2018. He also passed the 1,000-point mark in career scoring. Against Puget Sound on Feb. 9, he scored a new career high of 32 points as the Bearcats won, 98-87. Jenkins has now scored 1,059 career points to go along with 569 career rebounds and 208 career steals.

Earlier this season, Jenkins was named NWC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week on Dec. 10 and again on Jan. 28.

Jenkins is averaging 18.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this season. He leads the NWC in conference play with 21.8 points and 12.1 rebounds per game.

Willamette will return to action on Friday, Feb. 15 with a Northwest Conference game at George Fox University. Game time in Newberg, Oregon, is set for 8 p.m. (PST).
