SALEM, Ore. -- Jordan Jenkins (Placentia, CA/Valencia HS) of Willamette University has been selected Third Team All-West Region by D3hoops.com for the 2018-19 season. Jenkins was chosen First Team All-Northwest Conference earlier this year. after earning Second Team All-NWC honors in 2017-18.
Jenkins was one of just 15 athletes who received All-West Region honors in men's basketball this season. Five players were named to the First Team, with five players on the second team and five players on the Third Team. Voting was by sports information director in the West Region. The West Region includes 48 men's team from the West Coast to Minnesota and Texas.
Third Team All-West Region
Jordan Jenkins (Sr., F) was named to the All-West Region Team for the first time this season. He led the NWC with 22.2 points and 11.8 rebounds per conference game. He averaged 20.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for the entire season. He placed eighth all-time for the Bearcats in season scoring average.
He was the only Willamette player to start all 25 games. He shot 58.4% on field goals (180 of 308) to tie for eighth on the Bearcats' all-time list, and converted 127 of 168 free throws (75.6%). He scored 10 or more points in 24 games and earned 20 or more points 16 times. Jenkins registered 16 double-doubles with 10 or more points and 10 or more rebounds in the same game. He ranked ninth in double-doubles in NCAA Division III during the regular season.
Jenkins provided the Bearcats with 1,109 career points and 588 career rebounds. He played in 80 games and made 71 starts. He finished his career with 219 assists, 62 blocks and 57 steals. He averaged 14.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 0.8 steals over his final three seasons.
In addition to ranking nationally in double-doubles this season, Jenkins received national rankings of 17th in defensive rebounds per game (7.96 avg.), 28th in total rebounds (257) and 33rd in total rebounds per game (10.3 avg.). He was 54th in NCAA Divison III in field goal percentage (58.4%), 57th in total points (501), and 63rd in points per game (20.0). He finished 28th in free throw attempts, 33rd in free throws made and 59th in total field goals made.
He scored 31 points against Pacific University on Feb. 5 to set a career high, and then established a new career high with 32 points against Puget Sound four days later on Feb. 9. He also earned a career-high 19 rebounds in the game versus Pacific.
