Kibbee is Chosen for Third Team All-America Honors by GCAA

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University men's golfer Andrew Kibbee (Jr., Kenmore, WA/Bothell HS) has been selected for 2021 NCAA Division III PING Third Team All-America recognition by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) after tying for 15th place at the 2021 NCAA Men's Golf Championship. The GCAA honored a total of 48 golfers from Division III, with nine each on the First Team, Second Team and Third Team, plus 21 athletes receiving Honorable Mention. Kibbee was named First Team NCAA Division III PING All-West Region earlier this year.

Kibbee was one of just two golfers from the Northwest Conference to receive All-America status this season. Mason Koch from George Fox University joined Kibbee as a Third Team selection.

"Andrew works so hard," Willamette University Head Men's Golf Coach Patrick Daugherty said. "With his hard work, he will continually be recognized for his outstanding efforts."

NCAA Division III PING Third Team All-America

He was Willamette's top finisher at the NCAA Championship in Wheeling, West Virginia, as he tied for 15th place in the individual standings at 296 (80-72-70-74). His low round of the tournament was a 1-under 70 on the third day. His efforts helped Willamette tie for 11th place in the team standings.

Kibbee has now competed at two NCAA Championship events. At the 2019 NCAA Championship, Kibbee placed 88th overall, as the Bearcats took 13th in the team standings.

This year, Kibbee led the Bearcats with a 73.75 unadjusted stroke average. He registered a career-low round of 67 in the first round of the NWC Spring Classic on his way to winning the individual title at 139. He placed second at the NWC Fall Class and was third at the Pacific Invitational. He helped Willamette win the overall NWC Championship in 2018-19 and 2020-21. This year's NWC team title for the Bearcats included first place at the NWC Spring Classic and second place at the NWC Fall Classic and the NWC Tournament. Kibbee earned First Team All-NWC honors in 2020-21 after receiving Second Team All-NWC recognition in 2018-19.

As a first-year golfer at Willamette, Kibbee won the Pacific Spring Invitational in 2018-19. He took first place at the NWC Fall Classic in 2019-20. In addition to this year's 67, he has recorded two rounds of 69 for the Bearcats, with one each in 2018-19 and 2019-20. He has achieved a 74.98 career stroke average.

This season, Willamette registered a team score of 300 or lower in seven of 12 rounds, including a low round of 285 on the first day of the NWC Spring Classic.
