
Tualatin, OR - The second day of the Orange & Black Invitational saw 8 of the 9 Willamette participants improve on their score from day one and the overall team improved by 16 strokes on the day to shoot a total of 302.
Alexander Papajohn followed up his 73 from Monday with a 1-under par 71 on Tuesday to shoot even par for the two-day event, earning him a fourth-place overall finish. Teammates Paxton Jones (16th) and Lucas Paul (25th) joined Papajohn in the top-25 individual player standings.
Tuesday's scores for the other Bearcats joining Papajohn in the team competition were Oliver Smith with a 76, Kyler Phillips at 77, Brock Olson with a 78, and Jack Carr coming in at 82. The team was able to move up one place in the overall standings on day two with a total score of 620 (318+302)
The four team members competing as individuals at this event were the aforementioned Jones and Paul who shot 74 and 73 respectively today, along with Connor Murphy who carded a 78, and Benedikt Morsch who finished with an 81.
The team's next match will be at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by the University of Redlands on September 30th and October 1st.
