SPOKANE, Wash. -- Willamette University earned wins in the top three singles matches and at #6 singles to rally from a 2-1 deficit and defeat Community College of Spokane, 5-4, in an exhibition match late on Saturday, March 25 at the Whitworth Indoor Courts. It was the second time this season that the Bearcats downed the Sasquatch by a 5-4 score. The Bearcats also defeated CC of Spokane on Feb. 16 at the Courthoue Tennis Center in Salem, Oregon.

The match does not effect Willamette's win-loss record for the season because the NCAA does not count results against two-year colleges.

Garfield HS) and Colin Fisher (So., Caldwell, ID/Thomas Jefferson Charter School) of Willamette were victorious at #1 doubles against Sean Singco and Michael Manion, 8-4. CC of Spokane grabbed wins at #2 and #3 doubles. In the #2 match, Kyle Smithgall and Marshall Coleman defeated Gene Perle-Jones (So., Eugene, OR/North Eugene HS) and Owen Burcham (Fr., Portland, OR/Wilson HS), 8-5.
