SALEM, ORE. -- Due to heavy rain and windy conditions the doubleheader between Willamette University and Pacific University, originally scheduled to be played in Forest Grove, Ore., on March 1 has been postponed for the second time. The games were initially rescheduled for today (April 23), but the weather has forced an additional postponement.

The teams have not yet determined a date and time to try again at playing the two Northwest Conference games. Both teams plan to play the games by Saturday, May 3, one day before the NCAA Division III National Tournament field is selected.

Both teams are ranked in the West Region. Pacific (27-5 overall, 16-4 NWC) currently holds sixth place in the West Region rankings. Willamette (23-7 overall, 17-5 NWC) is listed eighth in the West Region rankings, which were released on April 13.

Willamette's next action is set for Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 in a home-and-home series with defending national champion Linfield College (32-2 overall, 21-1 NWC). The Bearcats and the Wildcats will play two games in McMinnville, Ore., on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. (PDT). The teams will meet at the Willamette University Softball Field in Salem, Ore., for two additional games on Sunday, also at 12 p.m. (PDT).

Liz Gilgan will be honored as the WU softball team's only senior during Sunday's doubleheader with Linfield.
