Snyder Earns Third Team All-West Region Honors

Senior Catcher Tops Bearcats in Five Different Statistical Categories

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior catcher Kelli Snyder (Longview, WA/Kelso HS) has been selected Third Team All-West Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). The All-Region selections were divided into three teams with a total of 45 athletes chosen from throughout the region.

In 2013, Snyder started 35 of the 37 games in which she played, leading the Bearcats in batting average (.436), on-base percentage (.532), slugging percentage (.653), hits (44), and doubles (13).

Her on-base percentage this year ranks second in Willamette's single season record books, while her doubles tally and batting average are listed third. She ranks fifth in single season slugging percentage.

Snyder's career numbers are similarly impressive. After appearing in 135 games (120 starts) for WU, she ranks third in batting average (.364), fourth in on-base percentage (.457), fifth in slugging percentage (.533), sixth in RBIs (63), seventh in doubles (24) and home runs (10), eighth in total bases (177), and ninth in hits (121).

Earlier this spring, Snyder was named First Team All-NWC for the third time in four seasons, after having previously been named First Team All-NWC in 2010 and 2012. Snyder was also the co-recipient of this year's Jean Williams Award, given annually to Willamette University's top senior female student-athlete.

The Bearcats went 14-24 overall in 2013, including 10-18 in Northwest Conference play. One of the season highlights was a 2-1 victory over archrival Linfield College on April 10. Linfield was ranked #7 in the nation at the time.
