Bearcats and Linfield to Complete Series with Two Games on Wednesday, April 12

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University and Linfield College will completed their four-game Northwest Conference softball series with a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 12. First pitch at WU Softball Field is set for 2 p.m. (PDT). The twinbill was originally scheduled for March 5.

The Bearcats are scheduled to player four games against George Fox University at the WU Softball Field this weekend before taking on Linfield on April 12. The Bearcats and the Bruins will play two games on Saturday, April 8, followed by two games on Sunday, April 9. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. each day.

Willamette enters the weekend with an 11-13 overall record, including 9-9 in the NWC. George Fox is 16-12 on the season, 12-10 in the NWC. Linfield, which is ranked 18th in the NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll released on April 5, is 24-6 overall, 13-5 in the NWC.

Mallory Asaro (Sr., SS, Rocklin, CA/Rocklin HS) is Willamette's top hitter with a .457 batting average. She also leads the Bearcats with a 10 doubles, two triples, 21 RBIs, a .778 slugging percentage and a .506 on-base percentage. Asaro and Steffany Dunn (Sr., RF, Colfax, CA/Colfax HS) are tied fro the team lead with four home runs.

Alex Shields (Sr., C, Lake Forest, CA/El Toro HS) owns a .378 batting average, while Jocelyn Glasgo (Fr., P/OF, Rochester, WA/Tumwater HS) is batting .375. The Bearcats are 54 of 66 on stolen bases. Shields has been successful on 13 of 15 stolen base attempts, while Dunn is 11 of 12.

Reanna Lancaster (So., P, Los Altos, CA/Mountain View HS) ranks first on the WU pitching staff with a 1.64 earned run average. She has registered 19 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings pitched. She has limited opponents to a .221 batting average.

The first two games in the Willamette versus Linfield series were rained out on March 4 and were made up on Wednesday, April 5. Linfield swept the doubleheader, 7-0 and 10-4.
