SALEM, Ore. -- The Northwest Conference softball series between Willamette University and Linfield University that was rained out on Feb. 25-26 has been rescheduled for Friday, March 24 and Sunday, March 26. All four games in the series will be played at the WU Softball Field. The doubleheader on March 24 will begin at 2 p.m. (PDT) and the doubleheader on March 26 will start at 12 p.m. (PDT).

Willamette and Linfield originally planned to make up the series with a doubleheader today, Wednesday, March 8 in McMinnville, Oregon, and two games at the WU Softball Field on Wednesday, March 29. Today's doubleheader was unable to be played due to snow on the ground in McMinnville. The second doubleheader was moved to a few days earlier on the calendar to accommodate other rescheduled games in the NWC.

The Bearcats will return to action this weekend when they host Pacific Lutheran University in a four-game NWC series. Willamette and PLU will open the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 11 starting at 12 p.m. (PST). The Bearcats and the Lutes will complete the series with a pair of games on Sunday, March 12 starting at 11 a.m. (PDT).

Willamette is 9-5 on the season, including 4-0 in the NWC. Pacific Lutheran holds a 12-4 overall record and a 4-0 record in the NWC.
