Bearcat Swimming Teams Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Awards

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's and women's swimming teams have received the Scholar All-America award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the spring of 2014. The award requires a team semester grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

A total of 138 women's team and 94 men's teams in NCAA Division III qualified for the award this spring. The Willamette women's team achieved a 3.34 semester GPA, while the Bearcats men's team earned a 3.20 semester GPA.

Willamette competes in the Northwest Conference. The men's team took fifth place at the 2014 NWC Championships, while the women's team finished in eighth place. Willamette's men defeated all three of their NWC rivals from Oregon during the dual match season.

Head Coach Leslie Shevlin was chosen NWC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year.
