SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University swimmer Cassie Tallman (So., Seattle, WA/Roosevelt HS) has been chosen by CollegeSwimming.com as the Northwest Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week ending on Nov. 8. CollegeSwimming.com chooses men's and women's Swimmers of the Week for all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA conferences.

Tallman won three individual events, placed a close second in another, and helped Willamette win two medley relays during the weekend.

She won the 200-yard breaststroke against Whitworth University in 2:31.47. She took first in the 200-yard freestyle against Whitman College in 2:02.86 and also won versus the Missionaries in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.38. She was second in the 200-yard individual medley against Whitworth, while earning a time of 2:16.70, finishing 0.42 out of first.

Tallman contributed to a win by 5.28 seconds over Whitworth in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:10.17 and a win by 2.72 seconds over Whitman in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.91.

Willamette lost to Whitworth 124-81 on Friday, Nov. 6, but defeated Whitman 116-89 on Saturday, Nov. 7. The Bearcats are 2-0 on the season. Willamette will take on University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, on Friday, Nov. 13. Meet time is set for 6 p.m. (PST).
