SALEM, Ore. -- Tremendous work in the classroom has enabled the Willamette University men's and women's swimming teams to earn Scholar All-America Team recognition from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the fall 2015 semester. Throughout the nation, a total of 547 teams at 354 college and universities from all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA qualified for the Scholar All-America Team designation.

The honor was achieved by programs that earned a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester.

"The coaching staff is very proud that our team has come together to achieve CSCAA Scholar All-America Team status this fall. Both programs set the achievement as team goals at the beginning of our season. In our program, we are always striving to first be the best people we can be, then to succeed as a team in the classroom and in the water."

Willamette was one of four women's teams in the Northwest Conference named to the Scholar All-America Team. The Willamette men's team was one of five teams in the NWC to claim Scholar All-America Team honors.
