SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University men's and women's swimming teams will be competing this weekend at the 2018 Bruin Invitational, hosted by George Fox University on Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2. The meet will be held at the Chehalem Aquatic Center in Newberg, Oregon. GFU is competing in intercollegiate swimming for the first time this season.
Action will get underway each day at 10 a.m. (PST) with preliminary heats. Finals will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Competition in the 1,650-yard freestyle will be held following the preliminary heats on Sunday. Relays will only take place during the evening sessions.
In addition to Willamette and George Fox, other teams participating in the meet will be from Pacific University and Mills College (Calif.). The meet will be Willamette's last competition during the fall semester.
