Lehndorff Earns Fourth Place out of 31 Entrants in Men's Discus at Linfield Open

McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Hans Lehndorff (Sr., Boulder, CO/Boulder HS) of Willamette University took fourth place out of 31 competitors in the men's discus throw at the Linfield Open on Saturday, May 7.

The athletes were split into three flights for their preliminary throws. Lehndorff participated in the third and final flight. He recorded a top distance of 148' 4" on his second throw of the prelims and was one of eight athletes who advanced to the finals. 

Lehndorff, who was seeded fourth entering the finals, earned his top throw on his fifth overall attempt. His best toss covered 149' 7", as he solidified his hold on fourth place.

Justin Ramirez, who competed for Ironwood Track Club, won the men's discus with a mark of 174' 11".

Willamette will host the West Coast Invitational on Thursday, May 12 at Charles Bowles Track. Field events will begin at 4 p.m. (PDT). Events on the track are scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.
