Schnee is 5th in Heptathlon, Peck is 7th in Decathlon, after 1st Day of Multi-Event

McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Willamette University athlete Adrian Schnee (Fr., Kalispell, MT/Glacier HS) is fifth in the heptathlon and Bearcat athlete Brian Peck (Jr., Reno, NV/Reno HS) is seventh in the decathlon after the first day of the 2019 Northwest Conference Multi-Event Championships on Monday, April 15 at Maxwell Field. The meet will conclude on Tuesday, April 16 with the final five events in the decathlon and the last three events in the heptathlon.

Schnee accumulated 2,330 points in the first four events of the heptathlon. She scored more than 640 points in three of the events, with a high score of 691 in the 100-meter hurdles. Her time in the hurdles was a personal record of 16.19 seconds, as she took fourth place. Her previous top time was 16.40 seconds.

In addition, Schnee scored 677 points in the 200-meter dash, while finishing third with a personal record of 27.42 seconds. Her previous record was 27.54 seconds. Schnee earned 644 points by clearing 4' 11.75" on her way to winning the high jump.

Annie Wright of George Fox University was first in the heptathlon standings with a score of 3,061 points. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.80 seconds, the shot put at 43' 9", and the 200-meter dash in 25.58 seconds. Her top score of the day was 868 points in the 100 hurdles. She recorded 834 points in the 200-meter dash. Wright tied for second place in the high jump at 4' 10.50".

Isabel Clark of Whitworth University held second place in the heptathlon with a 2,830 points. Alissa Swilley from George Fox was third with 2,577 points, and Tabitha Messineo of Pacific Lutheran University was fourth at 2,439 points.

Peck registered 2,996 points during Monday's five events in the decathlon. He scored over 600 points in four events, led by a score of 707 in the 100-meter dash. He was timed at 11.72 seconds in the 100. He achieved a leap of 20' 0.25" in the long jump and completed the 400-meter dash in 54.29 seconds. He cleared 5' 10" in the high jump.

The leader of the decathlon was Taylor Phillips from George Fox, who earned 3,518 points. Phillips won the shot put at 39' 2.25" and the high jump at 6' 4". Keaton Wood of Linfield was second overall with 3,488 points, while Nicholas McGill of Whitworth was third at 3,384 points. Berkley Hill of GFU owned fourth place with 3,281 points. Wood won the 100-meter dash in 11.18 seconds and also took first place in the 400-meter dash in 50.90. Hill won the long jump with a distance of 30' 5.75".
