SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University women's track and field thrower Tenley Grant (Jr., Longview, WA/Kelso HS) and high jumpers Whitley Stepp (So., Silverton, OR/Regis HS) and Erica Snyder (So., Longview, WA/Mark Morris HS) have been chosen All-West Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2024 outdoor season. In order to receive All-Region honors an athlete had to be ranked among the region's top five competitors in an individual event or compete on one of the top three teams in a relay event. Stepp was named All-West Region for the second year in a row.
NCAA Division III All-West Region
Tenley Grant (Jr.) concluded the season ranked third in the West Region in the hammer throw this spring. Her top mark was 158' 8" at the Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational at Linfield University on April 6. It was her career-best throw and moved her into second place on Willamette's all-time list in the hammer. Grant took second place in the hammer throw at the 2024 Northwest Conference Championships on April 20 with a top toss of 153' 2".
Whitley Stepp (So.) earned the top mark in the West Region in the high jump for the second consecutive year. She cleared 5' 7" while winning the high jump title at the 2024 NWC Championships on April 20. She has been selected to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The high jump will be held on Friday, May 24 at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, starting at 1:30 p.m. EDT / 10:30 a.m. PDT. Stepp enters the national competition tied for seventh in NCAA Division III. It will be Stepp's second trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She qualified for the championships in 2023, where she placed 18th in the high jump.
Erica Snyder (So.) was ranked third in the West Region in the high jump with a top mark of 5' 4.25", set at the GFU Final Qualifier on May 16. Earlier this season, she cleared 5' 3.75" at the OSU High Performance on April 27 and went over the bar at 5' 3.25" at the Oregon Twilight on May 3. She placed third in the NWC with a mark of 5' 3" on April 16.
