Sarah Hedgepeth is in her 13th year as an assistant coach with the Bearcats in 2021-22. Hedgepeth served as an assistant coach at Willamette from 2005-06 through 2007-08, and then returned to WU in 2012-13.

Hedgepeth is a 2004 graduate of Portland State University with a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications. She received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University in 2018.

During the 2019-20 season, Hedgepeth helped the Bearcats go 13-12, including 8-5 at Cone Field House. In 2017-18, she contributed to Willamette achieving a 17-10 overall record, including a runner-up finish in the Northwest Conference Tournament.

At PSU, Hedgepeth was twice named First Team All-Big Sky Conference. As a senior, she averaged a double-double while leading the Vikings in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage. She ranks second in career rebounds at Portland State, as well as 10th in field goals made and 10th in field goal percentage.

After college, Hedgepeth played four years of professional basketball in Portugal, Puerto Rico, Hungary and Finland.
