Bearcats Complete First Day at Puget Sound Invitational

TACOMA, WASH. -- The Willamette University women's golf team has completed the first day of action at the Puget Sound Invitational at Fircrest Country Club on Thursday, March 4. The host Loggers from the University of Puget Sound currently sit in first place with a team score of 341after the first day.

Following PLU on the team leaderboard is Linfield College in second place at 367. The Lutes of Pacific Lutheran University are in third place at 373. The Bearcats are in fourth place with a team score of 432.

Haylee Chung (Fr., Hilo, HI/Hilo HS) was WU's top finisher as she carded a 97 on the first day. She is tied for 10th place. Serena Cualoping (Fr., Manila, Philippines/International School) is tied for 14th place after a first round score of 100.

Brinn Hovde of Linfield is the individual leader after carding a first round score of 79. Her teammate, Brynn Hurdus is in second place after finishing the first day with an 80.

Play will resume on Friday, March 5 with the final round of the tournament.
