SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's golf team will compete at the Northwest Conference Championship on Apr. 24-25. The women will compete on the Green Back course at Heron Lakes Golf Course in Portland, Ore. Tee times are set for 10 a.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. (PDT) Sunday.

Haylee Chung (Fr., Hilo, HI/Hilo HS) has consistently been the top finisher for the Bearcats. The freshman from Hawaii shot a 189 and finished tied for 28th at the NWC Spring Classic.

The women's team does not have an athlete that competed at the 2008-09 NWC Championship. Chung and Serena Cualoping (Fr., Manila, Philippines, International School) will lead the way for Willamette.

George Fox University is the heavy favorite heading into the event. GFU claimed the team title at the NWC Fall Classic as well as the NWC Spring Classic and currently ranked #6 in the NCAA Division III poll.

Haylee Chung has been WU's top women's golfer this season.
