Weinhold is Chosen as NWC Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University freshman golfer Mckenzie Weinhold (Placerville, CA/El Dorado HS/Univ. of Nevada-Reno) has been chosen Northwest Conference Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Linfield Three-Way. Weinhold won medalist honors at the meet by carding a score of 80 at Michelbook Country Club in McMinnville, Ore.

Weinhold won the tournament title by one stroke over Willamette teammate Nicole Smith (Fr., Portland, OR/Westview HS) who finished second with an 81. The Bearcats took second place in the team standings.

The win for Weinhold was earned in just her second college tournament.

Willamette will return to the links this weekend at the George Fox University Invitational, which will be held at The Reserve Vineyards Golf Club in Aloha, Ore., on Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15. Action is set to begin at 11 a.m. (PDT). each day.
