PORTLAND, ORE. -- Wet grounds following heavy rains on Saturday, March 14 helped force the cancellation of the second round of the Pioneer Invitational in women's golf at the Heron Lakes Golf Club on Sunday, March 15. Final results of the tournament were based on scores in the first round, which was completed on Saturday.

LettaJoe Gallup (Jr., Alameda, CA/Holy Names HS) of Willamette tied for third place with an 81. The Bearcats placed fifth in the team standings.

Whitworth University won the team title at 328 for an eight-stroke margin of victory. Lewis & Clark College was second at 336, while Pacific Lutheran University claimed third at 344. Linfield College was fourth at 361 and Willamette followed at 378. Pacific University finished sixth at 451.

Katie Ochoa of Whitworth won the individual title with a 79. She achieved a one-stroke victory over Chelsea Bayley, also from Whitworth, who was second after carding an 80. Gallup's 81 matched the score for Maggie Harlow and Madeline Rice, both from Linfield, as the three golfers tied for third. Arielle Valdez of Lewis & Clark placed sixth at 82.

The Pioneer Invitational was hosted by Lewis & Clark. The tournament was held on the Greenback Course.
