BEND, Ore. -- Taneesh Sra (Jr., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) of Willamette University took first place, and teammate LettaJoe Gallup (Jr., Alameda, CA/Holy Names HS) finished in second, as the Willamette Spring Thaw in women's golf concluded on Sunday, April 19 at Broken Top Club.

Sra carded a 36-hole score of 165 with an 85 on Saturday and an 80 on Sunday. Her 80 was the low score for all competitors on Sunday and was the second lowest 18-hole score of the event. Gallup shot 166 with a tournament-low round of 79 on Saturday and an 87 in the second round.

Madeline Rice from Linfield claimed third place at 169. She shot 84 in the first round and 85 in the second round. Maggie Harlow of Linfield was fourth at 174 (89-85).

Linfield won the team title with a score of 733 (373-360) for a victory by five strokes. The Wildcats trailed the Bearcats by five strokes after the first round, but gained 10 shots over the final 18 holes. Willamette achieved a team score of 738 (368-370).

Sra and Gallup were two of four golfers for Willamette during the tournament. Maddi Barnett (Fr., Boise, Idaho/Timberline HS) shot 185 (94-91), while Holly Steele (Fr., Stayton, OR/Stayton HS) shot 222 (110-112).

In addition to Rice and Harlow, other golfers for Linfield were Tiana Yamaoka, Laura Waller and Madison Bennink. Yamaoka carded a score of 187 (99-88) for the Wildcats. Waller shot 203 (101-102) and Bennink shot 266 (137-129).

Willamette will compete at the 2015 Northwest Conference Tournament on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. The 36-hole tournament will be held at Crosswater Golf Course in Sun River, Oregon.
