Sra of Willamette is in Fourth Place after 18 Holes at NWC Tournament

SUN RIVER, Ore. -- Taneesh Sra (Jr., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) from the Willamette University women's golf team is in fourth place at the 2015 Northwest Conference Tournament after 18 holes played on Saturday, April 25 at Crosswater Golf Course. The Bearcats are in seventh place in the team standings.

Paige Henry from Pacific Lutheran University leads the individual standings at 76. Nicole Lomax of Whitworth University and Loreece Magsanide of George Fox University are tied for second place at 77. Sra follows in fourth at 78.

Four golfers -- Desirae Hasselwood from Pacific Lutheran, Sydney Maluenda and Hailey Ostrom from George Fox, and Lou Points from Whitman College -- are tied for fifth at 79. Claire Burke from Lewis & Clark is ninth at 80 and Kelly Sweeney is 10th at 81.

George Fox is first in the team standings at 319. Pacific Lutheran is six strokes back in second place at 325. Whitman is third at 333, while Whitworth is fourth at 335 and Lewis & Clark College is fifth at 336. Linfield College is sixth at 379, just three strokes in front of Willamette in seventh at 382. Pacific University is eighth at 440. University of Puget Sound did not compete.

Sra provided Willamette's top round on Saturday. Also competing for the Bearcats were LettaJoe Gallup (Jr., Alameda, CA/Holy Names HS), Maddi Barnett (Fr., Boise, Idaho/Timberline HS) and Holly Steele (Fr., Stayton, OR/Stayton HS). Gallup shot an 85 and is tied for 17th, while Barnett carded an 88 and Steele shot 131.

The NWC Tournament will conclude on Sunday, April 26 with the final 18 holes. The round will begin with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. (PDT). Starting hole assignments for Willamette are Sra on the 6th hole, Gallup on the 7th hole, Barnett on the 8th hole and Steele on the 9th hole.
