Barnett Ties for Fourth Place at Pacific Fall Invitational in Women's Golf

BANKS, Ore. -- Willamette University golfer Maddi Barnett (So., Boise, ID/Timberline HS) tied for fourth place at the Pacific Fall Invitational in women's golf as the 36-hole tournament concluded on Sunday, Sept. 20 at Quail Valley Golf Course. Barnett shot 81 in the first round and 83 in the second round for a final score of 164.

Action on Sunday began at 7:30 a.m. with the conclusion of the first round and continued with the entirety of the second round.

Barnett tied for fourth with Madison La Vergne from Pacific Lutheran University. La Vergne shot consecutive rounds of 82 to match Barnett at 164.

Medalist honors went to Mady Rhodenbaugh of Lewis & Clark College, who carded a 156 (74-82) to win by two strokes. Desirae Hasselwood from PLU was second at 158 (77-81), while Maggie Carey from L&C was third at 162 (78-84).

Jane Almeida of L&C placed sixth after shooting 166 (81-85). Jeankie-Jhen Aczon from Pacific Lutheran was seventh at 167 (86-81).

Barnett was one of three Bearcats competing in the tournament. Taneesh Sra (Sr., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) tied for eighth place at 168. Sra registered scores of 81 and 87 for a 36-hole total of 168 to tie Sofia Vigil from L&C, who carded 88-80. Aubryn Walters (Fr., Lafayette, OR/McMinnville HS) of WU shot 224 (102-122).

Pacific Lutheran topped the team leaderboard with a score of 658. The Lutes host 321 in the first round and 327 in the second round. Lewis & Clark placed second at 661 (328-333) and Pacific University, which hosted the tournament, was third at 796 (403-393). Willamette did not field a complete team.
