Sra is Tied for 22nd Place out of 48 Golfers after First Round of Culturame Classic

ALOHA, Ore. -- Taneesh Sra (Sr., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) of Willamette University shot an 84 in the first round and was tied for 22nd place out of 48 golfers after 18 holes of the Culturame Classic on Saturday, Oct. 3, at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club. George Fox University is hosting the tournament, which will conclude with the final 18 holes on Sunday, Oct. 4.

George Fox led the team standings with a score of 311. The Bruins held a four-stroke lead over University of Redland (Calif.) in second place at 315. Whitman College was third at 322, while Lewis & Clark College was fourth at 337.

Whitworth University and Concordia University (Ore.) were tied for fifth place at 338. University of California, Santa Cruz was seventh at 358 and Linfield College was eighth at 362. Willamette does not have a complete team entered in the tournament.

Phoebe Nguyen of Whtiman topped the leaderboard with a 2-under-par 71. Caroline Ordian from Redlands was second at even-par 73. Sydney Maluenda from GFU sat in third place at 74 and Amberlynn Dorsey held fourth place at 75.

Three golfers shared fifth place with matching 77s. They were Kristin Elich of George Fox, Lynsie Furuya from Concordia, and Ravipa Losakul from UC Santa Cruz.

Sra was tied for 22nd with Bianca Rojo and Kelsey Whiles, both from Concordia. Also for Willamette, Aubryn Walters (Fr., Lafayette, OR/McMinnville HS) shot 113. Maddi Barnett (So., Boise, ID/Timberline HS) was unable to compete due to injury.
