Sra is Tied for 3rd Place after 18 Holes at Wellesley Spring Break Invitational

CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. -- Willamette University women's golfer Taneesh Sra (Sr., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) was tied for third place following the first round of the Wellesley Spring Break Invitational at the ChampionsGate Country Club on Tuesday, March 22. Sra and two other golfers each shot a 79. The tournament will conclude with the second round on Wednesday, March 23.

Megan Klintworth from Hope College (Mich.) topped the leaderboard with a 3-over-par 75. Kayla Meyer from Carthage College (Wis.) was second with a 78. Sra was tied for third with Morgan Leep and Nicole Meyer, both from Hope.

Maddi Barnett (So., Boise, ID/Timberline HS) of Willamette held 10th place after shooting an 86. Aubryn Walters (Fr., Lafayette, OR/McMinnville HS) of WU finished the round at 114.

Hope led the team standings with a score of 316. Carthage was second at 328 and tournament host Wellesley College (Mass.) was third at 361. Willamette did not field a complete team.
