Barnett is Named All-American Scholar by Women's Golf Coaches Association

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University women's golfer Maddi Barnett (Jr., Boise, ID/Timberline HS), who recently completed her junior season with the Bearcats and is majoring in Economics, has been selected as an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). Barnett was one of just three golfers in the Northwest Conference to receive the academic honor.

Athletes qualified for the All-American Scholar designation by earning at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) through the 2016-17 academic year. A total of 952 golfers received the award from throughout all three NCAA Divisions. In the NWC, Barnett and two golfers from George Fox University were honored. Barnett will be a senior during the 2017-18 academic year.

WGCA All-American Scholar

Maddi Barnett (Jr., Boise, ID/Timberline HS) Maddi Barnett (Jr.) tied for 11th at the 2017 NWC Tournament with a 36-hole score of 159 (81-78). She tied for fifth place at the UCSC Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of California, Santa Cruz. She placed 11th at the Willamette Spring Thaw.
