Bearcats to Compete at NWC Tournament in Women's Golf

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University golfers Lexi Towner (Jr., Chico, CA/Chico HS) and Katerin Vasquez (So., Indio, CA/Coachella Valley HS) are set to compete at the Northwest Conference Tournament in women's golf on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla, Washington. The NWC Tournament is the third of three events used to determined the NWC Championship.

The NWC Fall Classic and the NWC Spring Classic each count for one-fourth of the overall title. The NWC Tournament counts for one-half of the team championship.

Action this weekend will feature one round per day for a total of 36 holes. On Saturday, Towner will tee off at 1:20 p.m. in a threesome with Shiyang Fan of Whitman College and Sami Briney of Pacific Lutheran University. Vasquez is scheduled to tee off at 1:30 p.m. in a group that includes Kacey Godwin of Whitman and Nicole Matiatos of PLU.
