NWC Selects Towner as Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, Ore. -- Lexi Towner (Sr., Chico, CA/Chico HS) from Willamette University has been chosen as the Northwest Conference Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Pacific Spring Invitational on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2. Towner won the tournament's individual championship by seven strokes.

Towner shot an 85 in the first round and then carded an 80 in the second round to finish with a 36-hole score of 165. Her 80 on Sunday was the low round of the tournament. Second place went to Kamryn Ford from Lewis & Clark College, who shot 172 (90-82). Willamette's Kristen Barclay (Sr./Jr., Kenmore, WA/Cedar Park Christian School) placed third at 178 (86-92).

The Bearcats will return to action at the Puget Sound Invitational on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington.
