Bearcat Golfers Srivastav and Hook Compete on 1st Day of Bushnell Invite

CRESWELL, Ore. -- Willamette University women's golfers Anushka Srivastav (Fy., Pune, India/Mahindra International School) and Meghan Hook (Sr., Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead HS) participated in the first round of the Bushnell Fall Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 17. Srivastav shot a 97 while Hook carded a score of 101. 

The tournament, which is being played at Emerald Valley Golf Club, will conclude with the second round on Monday, October 18. The round will get underway with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (PDT).

Alexandra Schmidt from Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) topped the individual leaderboard after 18 holes with a score of 1-under par 71. She held a six-stroke advantage over Delainey Rez from Corban University, who finished the day in second place with a 77. Kristin Senatra of Corban was third at 78, and Deana Caruso of Lewis-Clark State was fourth with a 79.

Two golfers, Kelly Dunn from Corban and Nicole Propheter from Lewis-Clark State were tied for fifth place at 81. Kaylee Jones from College of Idaho and Grace Shaddle from Skagit Valley College (Wash.) each shot an 83 to complete the round tied for seventh place.

Lewis-Clark State led the team standings with a score of 319. Corban followed in second place at 328. College of Idaho was third at 350 and Bushnell University (Ore.) was fourth at 363. Willamette, Simpson University (Calif.), and Skagit Valley did not enter a full team.
